Mid-Level Database Administrator
Location: Glen Allen, VA
Patient First is accepting applications for a Mid-Level Database Administrator in the Richmond, Virginia area. Patient First provides a friendly work environment that promotes a team oriented philosophy.
The responsibilities of the job include, but are not limited to, the following:
Developing, implementing, administering, and maintaining policies and procedures for ensuring the security and integrity of Patient First database systems;
Implementing data models, database designs, data access, and table maintenance codes;
Resolving database performance and capacity issues, replication, and other distributed data issues;
Writing programming scripts to enhance functionality and integrate with disparate data driven solutions;
Participating as needed in the mitigation of systemic failures.
Minimum education and professional requirements include, but are not limited to, the following:
Bachelor’s degree in the field of computer science or related field of study or four years of equivalent work experience;
Certifications in Microsoft database technologies, such as Microsoft Certified Solutions Expert (MCSE);
Familiar with standards, concepts, practices, and procedures related to database management systems within the Microsoft platform;
Two to four years of experience working with Microsoft SQL Server, SQL Server Integration Services, and SQL Server Reporting Services;
Flexible and adaptable to learn and understand new technologies;
Excellent written and verbal communication skills;
Excellent interpersonal skills;
Relies on experience and judgment to plan and accomplish the functions of the job;
Performs a variety of tasks and performs under general supervision;
Highly self-motivated and directed with a certain degree of creativity and latitude is required;
Attention to detail and highly logical;
Analytical and problem-solving abilities;
Ability to effectively prioritize and execute tasks in a high-pressure environment.
